The Philadelphia Orchestra
Visit siteA sleek redesign makes it easy to donate, buy tickets, and keep up with the Orchestra online
The Philadelphia Orchestra wanted its online visitors to be able to navigate their information and news more easily. Bluecadet created a beautiful, navigable site with a clean, sleek look, more readily accessible information, and a newly integrated ticketing process.
Design
The Orchestra wanted a look that more clearly and elegantly promoted their concert series, donation options, and musicians. Our design implemented a dynamic, full-bleed series of rotating homepage images that prominently displayed the Orchestra’s beautiful venue and imagery, while emphasizing where users could make donations and learn about concert series.
Information
We created a navigable menu system and integrated the Orchestra’s various other websites and social media presence, pulling important information onto the main site.
Visitors often come to the site specifically to find concerts, so we built an intuitive, infinitely navigable calendar. New features include a much-needed “agenda view” for the concerts, color-coding to visually group series, and Tooltips that allow users to see descriptions of the concerts by simply mousing over a date.
Integration
Our most technically challenging contribution was integrating the technical infrastructure that supports the Orchestra. They wanted to continue using Tessitura, a shared ticketing service that also supports the Mann Center, the Ballet, and the Opera. We integrated with the ASP technology, creating a seamless ticketing experience for users.
Awards and Recognition
Communication Arts selected the Philadelphia Orchestra site as WebPick of the Day.
